  1. The language of Newar (Newah) people is originally, and still officially known as Nepal Bhasa (translated as language of Nepal). However, Nepal’s administrators and mass media continuously distort its name to Newari that many Newar (Newah) people do not agree with. So, kindly either use Nepal Bhasa (or simply Newar language) for the name of the language.

    • Thank you so much for this important message! We received the recordings in translation until the title of “Newari” and were unaware of the controversy surrounding this title. We have since changed all of the references to these recordings to “Nepal Bhasa”. We really appreciate your informing us of this issue and apologize for the delay in rectifying it!
